England is located just 20 miles southeast of the Little Rock / North Little Rock metropolitan area in Lonoke County, Arkansas. We are a small rural town of approximately 3000 new and long-time residents who have chosen to live in the country, but close to "big city" amenities.

From the England area, you can drive in all directions to interesting places to visit including the new Clinton Presidential Center, in Little Rock, Delta Rivers Nature Center in Pine Bluff; Delta Cultural Center in Helena; Heifer International, Toltec Indian Mounds, and other places to visit.
The World War II USS Razorback (a Pearl Harbor survivor) submarine transported to the edge of the Arkansas River in North Little Rock is now open for tours, and the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History in Little Rock is open for tours Tuesday - Sunday. The new Dickey-Stepens minor league baseball park and home of the Arkansas Travelers opened in North Little on April 12, 2007. Check the Arkansas Travelers Web site for the team game schedule.
Birdwatching and searching for the Ivory Billed Woodpecker has become a new tourism attraction in the Delta region of the State within driving distance of England in Brinkley, Clarendon, the Dagmar Wildlfe Management Area, and the White River Refuge area.
The Little Rock National Airport is only 20 miles northwest adjacent to Interstate 440 (connecting Interstate Highways 30 and 40). England is located between two navigational ports: Little Rock Port Authority (20 miles northwest) and Port of Pine Bluff (20 miles southwest).
For history buffs, check out the Arkansas Civil War battlegrounds within moderate driving distance of Little Rock through the England area. The famous Marlsgate Plantation is nearby along with the Scott Plantation Settlement just 10 miles northwest of England on Highway 165 that has many historic buildings moved to one location in the community of Scott.
Agriculture is the major industry for the surrounding communities and provide the economic base for the city of England. However, you will find other types of small industries and distribution centers in the area in addition to thousands of acres of cotton, soybeans, rice. Some farmers may provide tours upon request.
